Saved the Last Dance

They say some people spend their lives never knowing love. The kind you never want to lose. And if you do, you should to be grateful that you once experienced something beautiful most people spend their whole lives never experiencing. Like in the lyrics of Alicia Keys. They say you can only ever truly love … More Saved the Last Dance

Miles away

As we were – youthful, vulnerable, spontaneous, adventurous – the world should have stood still and time should have remained indiscreet. If walls could talk, truly, they would remind you of the love that was true. They would remind you of how safe I felt in your arms and how happy I was in ecstasy, … More Miles away

I love my worth and respect more than I can ever love you

Love,

The kind where you are passionate to help me be better than my best,

The kind where you are keen to appreciate every good opportunity I represent.

The kind where I am realistic about the passion and vision that you offer,

The kind where I follow you unto the ends of the world so blindly. … More I love my worth and respect more than I can ever love you

Just the way I am

I was proud of my heart

Until I realized it was too weak for love

I’m no warrior for love,

Even though I wish I could be as explicit as the feeling inside

It still wouldn’t be enough

Because such is my fate.

You think I talk a lot of gibberish

But perhaps if you made us as uncomplicated

You would find beauty in my words here in my heart

I said there was no room for love here

Yet you were willing to make me promises

You first loved

But I’m the one who became needy

My head’s under water

I’m struggling to be alright

I want to think of you only half as much as you think of me

But I have not become a slave to my feeling for you

I am struggling to be alright

I do not want you to see me shatter

But in truth,

This is what I have become

But I would rather live a life of unrequited love

Than not know the feeling at all

I wouldn’t change a thing

 Because I love me

Just the way that I am … More Just the way I am

Why men pull away

Relationships can be a roller coaster anyway, regardless of the love but if we’re all being true to ourselves and each other, every roller coaster situation isn’t supposed to pull us apart. It’s supposed to bring us stronger together. So once in a while, depending on the time and mood, don’t be afraid to address those situations. It’s toward building a healthy and lasting relationship anyways. … More Why men pull away

Why men fall in love

You know, typically, I can’t think of one good reason why men fall in love. Not that women are not complementing in so many ways but men just like to be men (egocentric) most times that they forget that it’s OK to just be human too. Be vulnerable or not, it doesn’t mean you haven’t got the same red blood running through your veins like a woman’s. So many things make a man but you might as well be just a man – the man with the 6 pack abs, the man riding in the back sit of his Bentley, the man retiring before the age of 40, the man traveling the world with no care in the world. The difference in men, for a woman, is the communication substance. What makes a man speak with respect, care, truly listening to a woman determines, eventually, the quality of fulfillment he’ll have with his 6 pack abs or when his cruising in his Bentley or what he does with the rest of his time after retiring at 40 or what the world will mean to him then when he’s traveling the length and breadth of it without care.   … More Why men fall in love

 Part 18: Ilo ya Onibode

“Omololu”, she called gently. “Omololu, Mummy is here. Open your eyes Baby. I’m here. Everything will be fine”, she said, as her voice trembled so did her hands as she struggled to lift him to herself. “Omololu –“

“Mummy”, I cried as I tried to pull her away from him.

“Call your brother”, she said as the tears rolled down her cheeks. “He will surely hear you. Call him. Tell him to open his eyes”, she said as the sobs let loose uncontrollably. … More  Part 18: Ilo ya Onibode
