Celebrate Everyday!

Even when it seems like everything is going wrong in your life, there is always something that’s going right. You owe it to yourself to find out what that is and bring it into your awareness. No one will love you if you do not love yourself. No one will make you happy if you do not radiate happiness. No one can give you confidence if you don’t feel self-worthy. It’s not a matter of someday. You can make that choice to drop that low spirit and strive to have a brighter and happier life, because the more you focus on the good stuff, the more good stuff you find. … More Celebrate Everyday!

The fish who loved a bird

“If the fish and the bird falls in love, where would they live?” he asks her. “I’ve heard this is the irony of true love, pathetic. But with true love, we will change the course of our destiny and be happy for as long as we both shall live”. … More The fish who loved a bird

The fish who loved a bird

“Marry me”, Chris says during one of their many dates.

Ariyike grins.

Chris pulls out a cute jewelry box from his trousers’ pocket. “I’m serious”, he says.

Ariyike moves closer to him, touches his face, still full of that beautiful grin. He kissed ever so gently. “I didn’t doubt you the first time”, she whispers. She stretches out her fingers and he slides the ring on her middle finger. “I love you”, she says.

He smiles and kisses her again.

“Watch where you’re going”, she yells after the car but even she can hardly hear her own voice over the loud thunders and rainfall.

She hurries into her car and shuts the door. She watches the car drive away in her rear mirror while she wipes away the water from her face with her hand. Then she looks at herself in the mirror.

“Urgh!” she moans. “My hair. My polish”. So instead of going home, she waits patiently in her car so that the rain will stop and she can go back to the salon to retouch her look. But the rains poured even more. She doesn’t know when she falls asleep. … More The fish who loved a bird

December

What are the chances that it’s going to be a different and memorable December in a way that feels strangely complete?

A holiday! A holiday to usher us into the month of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

It’s that time of the year again, full of gratitude, celebration and deserving of honours. A time to both reflect on the year and celebrate how far we’ve come regardless of where we used to be.

If you’ve loved in the beginning of the year and still do, you have earned a badge of honour in a way that most people cannot boast of.

If you’ve worked from the beginning of the year and still thriving, the sky is your limit if truly you have a focus and a plan. … More December

While you’re waiting for that Mr. Right,

It’s so easy to take a look in the mirror and say to yourself, ‘the one who will marry me will be very lucky’. I’ve done it before. Well, I still think that the one who married me is lucky indeed but really, at first glance, I am very unassuming. I can cook, sew, mend, and care for babies. I’m patient, I’m kind and all those things a lot of people thought I was not when I was in Uni especially and afterward. They were probably seeing the surface side to me – the enigmatic beauty, and nothing more.

Men love that unattainable side to a woman. Well, that’s until they attain the woman and they look forward to the next unattainable “thing”. But what makes a man stay with a woman, perhaps, after that first mystery is unveiled? Beyond the beauty, carriage and packaging, should be a wife-material if you’re actually looking to be married sometime in the future. … More While you’re waiting for that Mr. Right,

Things to know about pregnancy

Being informed ahead of a task may better prepare you of expectations. But really, sometimes, there’s no amount of information that takes away the beauty or challenges or pain that comes with an actual task like being pregnant. I like to use myself as an example in most scenarios. When I got married, I just really wanted to be pregnant and have a baby. I’ve loved the thought of it since as far back as primary school but nothing prepared me totally for what to know about pregnancy or what to expect during pregnancy. Yes, I read books like What to expect when you’re expecting and followed relevant sites like BabyCenter but I was still confused at certain times of what to do and how to handle myself during that period.

So for newlyweds or those expecting to be pregnant, here are some of the stuff you need to know about being pregnant to better inform and prepare you of the wonderful journey ahead. … More Things to know about pregnancy
