OK so I usually don’t do this but I suppose this is what you get after watching an action packed Box Office movie like Avengers Infinity War.
I asked my nine year old, “Do you think Thanos is bad?”
“Depending on how you want to look at it but I don’t think he’s bad. I think he thought he had to do the things that he did. Like he told Gamora after wiping away half her kingdom, the generations afterwards have been peaceful. I also think he will turn good in Part 2”, my son said.
Hmm. From the perspective of a 9 year old; what do you think?
The analysis of my son’s perspective for me, would be:
For everything we perceive as wrong, is only wrong in our eyes. We need to put ourselves in the other person’s shoes to understand why they do the things they do. This doesn’t necessarily justify their actions but perhaps we’re able to approach the resolve with a bit of counselling rather than resorting to war and vengeance.
I actually agree with him.
I don’t Thanos is really a bad guy, but I think he is intimidating
He definitely knows how to get what he wants
