Is your love strong enough to bring me to life?

How can you see into my eyes like open doors?

Leading you down into my core

Waiting, paranoid about the depth of loneliness inside

Till you find me again and lead me back to you

Crying yet this emptiness won’t let it come through. … More Is your love strong enough to bring me to life?

Penguin

Someone once asked me, ‘why penguin?’

And I asked, ‘why not?’

‘But I really want to know’

So I said, ‘Google it’.

He comes back days later and says,

‘Now I understand the mystery that is you a little better’.

‘Tell me’, I said.

‘It’s a metaphor, that’s why you don’t usually perform the way people expect you to. You’re spontaneous and owing no explanations. And even though you want to believe that you’re conventional, there’s nothing conforming about you. And those sharp contrast colors of the penguin signify this unconventional nature. On one hand, you can be tough. On the other, you can be loving’.

‘Hmm’, I looked uninterested.

I didn’t research all of those to know I liked the unique love of the penguins. Their loyalty through a lifetime endeared me. I didn’t need his lecture too.

‘And if you haven’t loved, let me prove to you that I’m worth your loyalty’, he said.

‘But I’m already happily spoken for’.

‘Touché’. … More Penguin

It’s wedding season! What are you wearing?

The thought of being a wedding guest got me thinking about the trending craze with wedding guests now, especially with the outrageous attires they wear. Girls are not smiling o. At all! Whether as the bride or a wedding guest, everyone just wants to dress to impress and that’s putting it lightly. From the face-beat to total transformation, ladies look unrecognizable when it comes to attending weddings. Well, for those still single, perhaps it’s a trending gimmick to snatch off eligible bachelors. But the craze is fast getting out of hand. … More It’s wedding season! What are you wearing?

Women have been told they are their man’s better half. But what does that really mean?

I was watching Laura Ikeji’s dance post on Instagram the other day and my thoughts were not coordinated at first. A woman loves to showcase her children and celebrate her love for them, regardless of the amazing love she had or has for her husband from the beginning of their relationship. So if the woman is celebrating herself and her children, who is celebrating the husband? … More Women have been told they are their man’s better half. But what does that really mean?

While you’re waiting for that Mr. Right,

It’s so easy to take a look in the mirror and say to yourself, ‘the one who will marry me will be very lucky’. I’ve done it before. Well, I still think that the one who married me is lucky indeed but really, at first glance, I am very unassuming. I can cook, sew, mend, and care for babies. I’m patient, I’m kind and all those things a lot of people thought I was not when I was in Uni especially and afterward. They were probably seeing the surface side to me – the enigmatic beauty, and nothing more.

Men love that unattainable side to a woman. Well, that’s until they attain the woman and they look forward to the next unattainable “thing”. But what makes a man stay with a woman, perhaps, after that first mystery is unveiled? Beyond the beauty, carriage and packaging, should be a wife-material if you’re actually looking to be married sometime in the future. … More While you’re waiting for that Mr. Right,

Don’t plan a wedding, Plan a marriage

It’s a new week but I want to imagine love is still in the way. With Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian’s wedding last week Thursday to Banky W and Adesuwa Etomi’s wedding on Sunday, I enjoyed every bit of it from Instagram like many others. Smiles. I guess it just goes to show, for those still expecting that wedding miracle that it isn’t over for the year. After all, it is the season of wedding bells. I hope yours’ will be one of those we’ll hear before 2017 is done.

But speaking of weddings, we tend to get carried away with that one day event most times as opposed to putting preparations and plans unto the forever after. Don’t get me wrong – I love weddings. I’ve loved weddings since I was my Dad’s date to a wedding ceremony sometime in 1996. I thought the bride looked like an angel and the happiest woman I ever saw and secretly I prayed the couple will remain happy forever. … More Don’t plan a wedding, Plan a marriage
