Ever think that you’d be so much happier if you were driving down the street in a car that costs as much as someone’s house? Turns out, if you’re getting quality sleep and have a happy sex life, you’re over and above the material stuff.
Happiness is a consciousness to be satisfied and contented in whatever situation you find yourself, or at least that’s how I’d like to define it at this time. We all derive joy through different means. A lot of people would argue emphatically that money or pay raise is a better short cut to happiness. Well, just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Regardless of the finite things we program our minds around to give us satisfaction, a good night’s sleep and good sex life have a far greater impact on our well-being than money. Just as strong relationships with family and friends, job security and the good health of loved ones are also much more important than flashy cars and exotic holidays.
That’s not to say we should all just quit our jobs to have sex and sleep all day, of course. But being unemployed or suffering from problems with physical and mental health, and lacking a strong support network in terms of relationship are the top three factors that separate those who are struggling from feeling like they are living well. So while income may not be important, job security certainly is for a well-rounded life.
If sleep is your problem, you might want to invest in some basic comforts that puts you in a relaxing, almost tranquilizing state enough for long hours sleep – no phones, no laptops. Some say sex is a good stress reliever so why not indulge as long as you’re legally allowed to. Take advantage of your partner’s resources. It won’t only relieve your stress, you’ll be able to relax and sleep better. Just be sure to do it right enough to get out the benefits. And if it’s your job that’s got you restless in bed, don’t worry: You can still land the career of your dreams.
Ultimately, you want to be happily satisfied in this lifetime. After all, it’s just one life to live, isn’t it?
