Half Year Reflections

Hi People,

Happy New Month!

It’s half of the day today, did you realize that? Scary, is it? For me, it’s a wakeup call, a day for reflection, and yes maybe scary too. I tried not to have a list of unrealistic resolutions at the beginning of this year but I had my mission for 2016. See here.

For the first one, its true when they say be careful what you wish for. It can easily become overwhelming but thanks to Lili, I’m learning to give my feelings a name and deal with them one fresh breadth at a time. Thanks Lili. But still, I’m grateful I have time for family.

I will always always be grateful for what blogging is doing in my life. All of a sudden though, I realize I don’t want to be popular like be a star with blogging. I just want to do the things I enjoy and be able to help someone through one challenge or the other by my writing. As long as I love writing and I can be an inspiration to someone else and help, then I would have acquired the status and recognition I wanted.

You know they say when you need a hero you needn’t look too far from yourself. It’s all in you. You hold the power to be who you want to be and make your dreams come true. However, I will not underestimate the impact of good company, good influence and good people in life so far this year. To all those who are helping me become a better person, I say ‘Thank you’.

Remembrance and recognition for worth, I’ve learnt, is as important as a worthy pay. It’s just a matter of time before the Dollars start rolling in (smiles). I believe it.

So I guess I just evaluated where I was at the beginning of the year in comparison to where I am now. So far, so good but I still have a long way to go.

What have you won or lost so far this year? What have you gained and what have you let go this year? Ultimately, I hope you’ve been making decisions to draw you closer to your goal for the year. It’s half of it today so if you haven’t yet, today’s a good day for such reflections.

See you on the other side of 2016.

Buki
