The first Christmas under the Change regime: Nigeria situations

I am dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know. May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmas days be white.
Yea, cool song but that doesn’t allow to us in Nigeria. Not white but we feel Christmas in Lagos when we begin see the lavish decorations all over town, thanks to former Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola. The decoration by Zenith bank too is always on point.

It all seem to me that this year though, under the regime of ‘Change’, Christmas or the preceding days before Christmas isn’t what it used to be. Just yesterday, Christmas eve, in broad day light, decorations were going on in front of the Lagos State Secretariat. Like seriously? Is there need for that anymore? Oh well, i’m sure there’s some sort of explanation or reason. Or perhaps, the budget for that was cut/cancelled so the civil servants can get some sort of allowance or benefit this year. What do I know? But some say, it’s not looking good in the other parts of the country as well.

Oh well, we all know some reforms are underway for a better Nigeria so, fingers crossed, the seeming economic quiet around this Christmas is a worthy sacrifice for our great nation.

How’s Christmas looking in your area?
